The release date
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. Rockstar confirmed this date in November 2025, and it is the third date the game has had, which is why so many people still quote the wrong one.
The history matters, because it tells you how much weight to put on any future date rumour. GTA 6 was first given a vague 2025 window, then moved to May 26, 2026, and then moved again to November 19, 2026. Rockstar's statement accompanying the second delay included an unusually direct apology: they said they were very sorry that this was later than expected.
Platforms
- Confirmed PlayStation 5, confirmed launch platform

- Confirmed PC, no version and no launch window has been announced
- Reported Base PS5 reportedly runs the game at 30 frames per second
- Reported First-person mode reportedly not included at launch
Editions and price
There are two editions. A physical release does exist, but it is a box containing a one-time download code rather than a disc. Rockstar has confirmed there is no disc. Physical copies reach shops on 12 November, and digital pre-orders begin pre-loading the same day, so the box buys no head start. Digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+, which auto-renews into a paid subscription unless cancelled.

The pre-order bonus
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 across the Rockstar Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and major retailers. There is exactly one pre-order bonus and both editions get it: the Vintage Vice City Pack, available as long as you pre-order before November 20, 2026.
