What we store on your device
Your quiz scores and course progress are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They are never sent to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and the "Reset progress" button on the curriculum page does the same thing.
If you join the mailing list we store the address you give us, purely to send you the emails you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list. We do not sell, rent or share the list with anyone.
Student accounts
Enrolling is optional. Nothing on this site is behind a login and nothing ever will be, every unit, article and image is free to read signed out.
We never ask for a password. You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with Discord or Google if you prefer. There is no password here for anyone to steal, and no password for us to lose.
If you do enrol, we store:
- your email address, so we can send the sign-in link
- a student number, assigned in the order people enrol
- a display name, only if you choose to set one
- your quiz and exam results, and your launch-week checklist
That is the entire list. No name, no address, no payment details, no tracking of what you read. Accounts are held on Supabase, which provides the database and the sign-in links.
You can delete all of it yourself, whenever you like. There is a button on your student page that permanently removes your account, your transcript and your checklist. We do not keep a copy, and you do not have to email anyone to ask.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not follow you across other websites and does not build a profile of you.
Advertising
This site carries advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, if and when AdSense is enabled here, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers may earn us a commission if you make a purchase. It costs you nothing extra and never changes what we write.
Children
Grand Theft Auto is rated for adults. This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
