Glossary

Every GTA 6 term worth knowing, defined in one sentence. Useful when a video assumes you already know what a Criminal Profile is.

Busted
The screen shown when a protagonist is taken into police custody. Returns in GTA 6, where one protagonist can be arrested while the other escapes.
Criminal Profile
GTA 6's replacement for Red Dead Redemption 2's Honor system. Tracks patterns of behaviour rather than sorting actions into good and evil, and influences how NPCs react to you.
Fence
A specialist buyer for stolen goods. Vehicle fences also supply intel on valuable cars held in police impounds.
Focus mechanic
A confirmed ability that reveals nearby objects and other useful details in the environment.
Hollow stars
Outlined stars on the wanted meter, meaning police are searching for you but do not have a confirmed description.
Leonida
The fictional US state GTA 6 is set in, based on Florida. Contains all six confirmed regions.
Leonida Penitentiary
The prison where Lucia Caminos was incarcerated before the events of the game.
Only Raw Records
The record label run by Boobie Ike and Dre'Quan Priest, whose signed act is the rap duo Real Dimez.
Ryde Me
The in-game rideshare app used for fast travel, accessed from the phone.
Security tier
A vehicle's theft difficulty class. Older cars open with a slim jim; modern luxury cars may need key-cloning tools.
Snapmatic
The returning in-game Instagram parody. Jason and Lucia can browse and follow but cannot post, because they are fugitives.
The Extended Look
GTA 6: An Extended Look, a 26-minute in-game gameplay presentation that premiered on Netflix on 27 August 2026, then on YouTube the same evening.
Vice City
Leonida's largest city and the game's primary urban setting. Rockstar's modern-day Miami, first seen in the 2002 game of the same name.
Vintage Vice City Pack
The pre-order bonus, shared by both editions, for orders placed before 20 November 2026.
WAINK
An in-game phone app that scans a vehicle and reports its estimated value, registration cost, lock status, alarm and tracking status.
