Confirmed Release

GTA 6 release date: November 19, 2026, and why you keep seeing the wrong one

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here is the full delay history, why so many articles still quote May 2026, and what Rockstar actually said.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

That is the date Rockstar confirmed in November 2025, and nothing has changed since. If you are seeing a different date, you are reading something that was written before that announcement, or something that was never accurate to begin with.

The full delay history

GTA 6 has had three dates in public. Knowing the sequence is genuinely useful, because it tells you how much weight to give the next rumour.

  1. A vague 2025 window, given at the first trailer in December 2023.
  2. May 26, 2026, set when the 2025 window slipped in early May 2025.
  3. November 19, 2026, set in November 2025.

Rockstar’s statement accompanying the second delay was unusually plain-spoken. They said they were very sorry that this was later than expected.

The pattern worth remembering

Both delays were announced by Rockstar directly. Neither leaked first in a way that turned out to be accurate.

In between those announcements, a steady stream of “insider” claims circulated predicting other dates, and every one of them was wrong. There is no track record of anyone outside Rockstar correctly calling a GTA 6 date before Rockstar said it.

Platforms

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no confirmed PC version and no announced PC window.

Rockstar has historically brought GTA games to PC well after console, GTA 5 launched in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, about 19 months later. That is a pattern, not a promise, and we will not publish a PC date until there is one.

There is no last-generation version. PS4 and Xbox One are not getting this game.

Price and editions

  • Standard Edition, $79.99
  • Ultimate Edition, $99.99, adding exclusive premium vehicles, weapons and apparel

Both are digital. Rockstar has confirmed there is no physical collector’s edition at launch, despite a long run of speculation about a statue bundle at around $230.

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Both editions get the same bonus, the Vintage Vice City Pack, for any pre-order placed before November 20, 2026, which is the day after launch. There is no rush.
