10 things you probably missed in the GTA 6 Extended Look
Vice City FM is back, Jason can pet dogs, and an influencer will livestream your police chase from your own back seat. The small details from Rockstar's 26-minute reveal that say the most about the finished game.

The headline features from the Extended Look are covered in our full breakdown. This is the other list, the small things, which are usually the ones that tell you what a game is actually going to feel like.
Most of the items below come from preview coverage and frame-by-frame analysis rather than direct Rockstar statements, so this article is labelled reported rather than confirmed.
1. Vice City FM is back
The radio station returns. For a series where the soundtrack does as much characterisation as the script, bringing back a named station from the 2002 game is a deliberate signal about how much this Vice City is meant to rhyme with the old one.
2. The music range is enormous
The footage alone spanned Depeche Mode-era synth-pop through to contemporary hits like “Pound Town” by Sexyy Red and Tay Keith. Rockstar has separately confirmed this is the largest collection of radio and TV commercials in franchise history, and the licensed music budget looks like it matches.
3. You can pet the dog
Jason petting a dog reportedly triggers a small angel-like icon and a notification sound.
That is more interesting than it sounds. A notification implies the game is recording the act, which points at the Criminal Profile system tracking more than just crime. If kindness registers alongside violence, the profile is a fuller behavioural model than Red Dead’s Honor bar was.
4. An influencer will livestream your police chase
One encounter reportedly features an influencer livestreaming a police pursuit from inside the player’s own vehicle.
This is the game’s satire operating as a mechanic rather than a cutscene. GTA 6’s targets are clout and the creator economy, and putting a streamer in your back seat during a chase is a sharper joke than any radio ad could manage.
5. Stealing a car has an actual input
The slim jim is reportedly a real manual action, press Triangle, then rotate the right stick from roughly the 3 o’clock position to 9 o’clock, rather than a hold-button prompt.
Small change, big implication. Quiet theft becomes a skill you perform under time pressure while someone might be watching, which is exactly what a witness-based wanted system needs.
6. Key cloning is a separate system
Modern cars need key-cloning tools instead. So vehicle theft is not one mechanic with a difficulty slider. It is genuinely different interactions depending on the car’s security tier. Old cars are a physical puzzle, new cars are an equipment check.
7. The satirical commercials are back
Radio and TV advertising returns, and Rockstar says there is more of it than in any previous game. In a series where the ad breaks have often been funnier than the missions, that is a real content promise.
8. Non-lethal takedowns are a designed option
Shooting an enemy in the arm or leg can remove them from a fight without killing them, and accurate shots can disarm rather than kill.
Combined with the Criminal Profile tracking patterns of behaviour, this suggests a genuine low-violence playstyle is viable, something no previous GTA has really supported.
9. Impressive violence gets its own camera
Particularly notable kills reportedly trigger cinematic slow-motion angles. Rockstar has used this before, but pairing it with the non-lethal options above gives the game two distinct visual languages for combat depending on how you choose to play.
10. There is a lawyer living in a dumpster
One preview described an optional encounter with a lawyer in a dumpster, offering legal advice in exchange for pills.
Worth including because it is the clearest evidence of how dense the optional content is. Rockstar confirmed that ambient conversations can develop into activities and unexpected open-world events . This is what that actually looks like in practice.
A note on labelling. Several items here come from frame analysis and hands-on previews rather than Rockstar statements, and control-scheme details in particular often change before release. We will upgrade individual items to confirmed as Rockstar states them directly.
