Lucia Caminos

Lucia Caminos is the first playable female protagonist in a mainline Grand Theft Auto game, a genuine first for the series after nearly three decades, and the single most-discussed fact about GTA 6 since its announcement.

She was born in Liberty City, and learned to fight from her father at an early age. Her family's circumstances moved her to the state of Leonida, where a series of decisions, some hers, some made for her, landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary.

The campaign opens with Lucia freshly out and wearing an ankle monitor. Rockstar has confirmed that the monitor is central to the campaign rather than a passing story beat, which strongly implies early-game restrictions on where Lucia can go and how much heat she can afford to attract.

Her defining trait, in Rockstar's own framing, is that she wants a better life and is entirely willing to take it. She and Jason are the series' first playable couple, a Bonnie-and-Clyde structure that the whole game is built around.
